My review is about the beer and the Inn. This place is located in the heart of Egg Harbor. It has your typically bar food menu and has a large patio for outdoor seating. It's within walking distance of several shops and restaurants. Across the street is the Chocolate Chicken (fudge, ice cream, coffee) and a block from Moja Rosas (burgers, Mexican, pizza) which had a good selection of beers and seemed to be the late night hangout spot. We didn't eat here, but we did sample the beer. As others have mentioned, the beer was okay. Nothing really stood out as exemplary. Samples did arrive in plastic cups but that didn't bother us. As for the Inn, there are 8 rooms to choose from of varying sizes. We stayed one night in Room #4 which had a queen size bed and was nicely furnished. It was air conditioned and had a hair dryer in the bathroom. No coffee maker or fridge. Noise from the street wasn't an issue for sleeping here despite the place being along the main drag. Noise from patrons downstairs could be heard so if you are a light sleeper you might want to look elsewhere or have earplugs handy. Nice accommodations for $89 a night (peak season). Solid 3 star rating for the Inn.

I've been coming to Shipwrecked once or twice per year for about 4 years during trips to Door County. I never thought the food was that great, but I always liked the beer... until this last time. I ordered the summer seasonal brew and knew right away that something was off. Either the glass was dirty or the tap lines were. It was completely flat and had that distinct "bad tap line" funky taste to it. I called the college-aged waitress over and told her to tell the bartender about the problem, and that I'd try the cherry wheat instead. When she came back 15 minutes later with my beer, I asked why it took so long. She told me that the bartender had a lot of drink orders ahead of mine. When I mentioned that my "order" probably should have jumped to the head of the line since 1) it was a simple tapper and 2) it was a make-good for a bad drink, she just stared blankly and repeated that there were a lot of orders ahead if mine. Our food arrived and things got worse. While it's never been great food at Shipwrecked, it's always at least been solidly OK. This time my daughter's order of the curry chicken salad wrap was absolutely disgusting. It was sort of like a weird, vaguely curry-flavored mashed chicken paste. My "Kraken" burger seemed ok. It had a lot of stuff smothered over the top. But eventually I realized that I couldn't taste the burger itself. Upon searching for it, I discovered a small over cooked beefish looking disc underneath everything, which sort of grossed me out. The final straw came when the vacant waitress brought my bill out, and the beer I had sent back was still on there! Even worse, she seemed miffed when I asked her to remove it, telling me she'd have to talk to the bartender about that. All in all, it was an absolutely terrible experience.

Great hamburgers wish they would have a senior day. Kind of pricey for us folks. Great food and staff

I was a little disappointed in Shipwrecked. We started with the beer flight because we wanted to taste all the beers they offer. They come out in little plastic cups- not very impressive. The beers were just ok. We both enjoyed the cherry flavored beer the most. As far as food goes, we both wanted a burger but we decided to go with one burger and something else so we could share and try different things. We went with the Mac and cheese. We should have gotten two burgers. The mac just wasn't very good. It didn't even tasty cheesy. The burger was pretty tasty though. It had a cherry BBQ sauce on it that we really enjoyed. Service was good, but I'm not sure if it's worth a return trip.

Stopped here for a beer and appetizers. We had the nachos; which were amazing. Was rather leary considering they are topped with mashed potatoes, but they were excellent. Also had the blonde and cherry hinted beers- both were good. We also had nice service. The only my down side were the bumblebees when we sat outside. Understandably so, this is no fault of the bars, BUT if they put out bee resistant repellant, candles, shrubs, etc. it would make the experience of outside dining more enjoyable.

Wasn't impressed. At all. Sat in the bar area and the decor was that of an early 90's Long John Silvers mixed with a little league concession stand. Beer was passable and the cheese curds were good, but the overall ambiance and vibe of the place was very touristy and depressing. Skip it.

Came in here for after dinner drinks. The bar was busy, as it was Memorial Day Weekend and a Saturday. We read mixed reviews on the beer, but thought we would stop in as there wasn't much else around. Both bartenders had their backs to us at the bar. Waited a minute and decided to leave. Probably would have ordered a couple drinks.

Best chowder I've ever had. We went during a slow time to obviously we were seated promptly. Waitress introduced herself. We ordered. Got our waters right away. Food came out in a prompt timely manner. Had the pulled pork and it was delicious! Husband had brisket and he loved it! Waters filled. Waitress checked in on us. Did read some of the negative reviews but didn't have any negative experience. We will return to Shipwrecked in 2016!

If you like average food and drinks, this is your place. Comparatively speaking, the pricing for a meal is quite low, but then again so is the quality of the product. Rubbery chicken and lackluster burger. Despite that, the service was helpful and friendly.

I have been going to Door County for 30 years and this may be one of the worse restaurants in the entire county. Wow, poor service and bad food. I wish I could say something nice but I'm not able to. There are much better places to dine in Door County, so keep driving.

Terrible food, salad was nasty many brown pieces. My husband's bun for his brat was hard and tasted old. Sorry, nice atmosphere, but fail when it comes to food. Move on, better resturants down the road.

The food is garbage straight out of the microwave oven. It was not edible. I wanted to send it back but there was no service. My mom insisted on paying. I would have left without paying. This is high priced garbage also. This is a tourist trap! Stay away!

Had lunch here during the off-season. I had The Kraken burger and my husband had the grilled chicken sandwich. I got the sweet potato fries and he had the regular fries. The gentleman who seated us was super friendly and nice. It was apparently our waitresses first day and we were her first table! She did really well, was very cheerful and pleasant. Our food came out in a decent amount of time and was very good. I would definitely come here again. We had a very good experience.

Note - we just had drinks at the bar. Found the bar tender to be friendly and engaging. Tried their flight to sample their beers and while nothing was outstanding, nothing was horrible taste wise. After this, we tried one of their adult slushies which we really enjoyed on a warm night. We didn't try any of the food but for the 4 days we stayed in Egg harbor, the place was packed from lunch through dinner that we saw when we drove by. I noticed some of the review below were worse based on food but in talking with others we met who had been there, they said the burgers were great.

Went here for lunch a few weeks ago. Between 2 adults and 2 kids, the meal was the same. Not good at all. We have visited many times in the past but something has changed. I had a burger with no bun, it tasted like a frozen patty with some bbq sauce and bacon thrown on. Yuck! My son who loved their ribs in the past did not like them at all. Over cooked. The fish and chips were nothing to write home about either. The staff is always nice, but so slow. People who came in be after us were getting served before us. It was not a extremely busy time. Late lunch, before the dinner rush. Sad to say I don't think we will be returning.

Came here expecting subpar but eatable vacation town food. My wife ordered the twelve dollar shrimp salad with lime dressing. What did they bring out? A bowl of wilted, out of the bag, salad dressed with three midget shrimp skewered with a toothpick. The lime vinaigrette was your run of the mill bargain brand store dressing generally packaged in a large plastic bottle. The BLT wrap was nothing to write home about either. Once you've seen one gas station sandwich, you've seen them all.

Descriptive phrase: kitschy nautical pub. Shipwrecked is located right on the main drag through Egg Harbor. They've been open since the 90's operating as a brewery, pub, and inn, but the building itself has been around much longer and has its own share of interesting stories attached. We sat down at the bar, though there is also plenty of seating in that and another dining area. The theme is definitely nautical in nature, though with a definite small-town Door County feel. Their "Plank O' Brews Sampler" was only $7 for one of each of their 7 beers on tap. The plastic cups were small and really were just for samples, and I was a little disappointed the "plank" was a piece of paper instead of actual wood. Lighthouse Light: A slightly-tastier Kolsch (ABV 5.6%) Miller Lite. Bayside Blonde Ale: American Blonde Ale (5.2%) lacking much flavor. Summer Wheat (Seasonal): This Hefeweizen (5.8%) was the only of the beers I found very drinkable, though it was still a bit watery. Door County Chery Wheat: This Wheat Ale (5.5%) is made with Door County cherries, which is a unique, local addition. Captain's Copper: One of my favorite styles, Amber Ale, this beer had the color but lacked the maltiness I look for. India Pale Ale (Seasonal): Hop-hunters may find this IPA (6.5%) to be a bit weak, though it did feature more flavor than the Copper. Peninsula Porter: A pretty standard Porter (5.4%), if a bit watery. Shipwrecked has a prime location and serves up a kitschy theme, but their beer was disappointing. Nearly every beer was watery and lacked flavor; indeed they were hard to distinguish at times. Points are given for having 7 on tap (and for just $1 apiece), but with little distinction between each it's kind of moot having so many. Shipwrecked may be a neat place to stay as an inn to explore the area, and I can't speak to the food, but there's better beer to be had.

We started our summer vacation having a nice salad at shipwreck brew pub I asked about the chicken on my salad it had a odd texture.Later that evening I became violently sick and realized I had food poising working in the medical field I quickly recognized the symptoms. I had my husband call the restaurant first thing in the morning to let them know so no one else would become ill. The assistant manager said they would call Joe Smith the manager and he would get back to us this never happened so a few days later we stopped back into the brew pub and this time were told everyone gets sick from chicken and it's not their fault. After my husband finally tracked down Joe Smith at his other restaurant he seemed to think it was no big deal and refused to resolve the issue or offer an apology. Claiming in ten years no one had ever been sick from his food .So please be weary of eating at this establishment. It is not worth it campylobacter.

Our table had the seafood chowder which was spot on with full of flavor not fishy. I had the pulled pork sammich which was the best I have ever had. The Canadian fries ate loaded with the pulled pork and yummy beer (poutin) sauce. The kraken burger also has the pulled pork on it and was a home run for my hubby's birthday dish. He paired it with their bolder flavored IPA. The fish & chips are a large portion with a nice white flaky fish and the Thai salmon was good for a lighter fare option. We were too full for dessert. The outdoors seating had a pretty view of Egg Harbor.

So... This place has a bum rap. The service (bartender Joe) was great. I had the SOB Turkey burger. It was nothing to write home about, but it was "sea worthy." *hehe* not a lot of flavor, but still good. We had the hush puppies. Delish honey butter. Mmmmmm. Boyfriend had the pepper jack BLT &!enjoyed it. I would not suggest the pumpkin spice martini... The raspberry gin fizz, however, was yummy.

The restaurant's slogan is "I got wrecked at shipwrecked!" I need to preface this review with admitting that I was already "wrecked" prior to heading to Shipwrecked, because my visit was preceded by two winery tours and a lot of wine "tasting". Nevertheless, the experience was a good one. We went to the bar, ordered MORE drinks, and made what was possibly the best culinary decision of our trip to that point. That decision, friends, was poutine. "What's poutine?", my sweet husband slurred as we perused the menu. To answer his question, poutine is a Canadian food that consists primarily of french fries topped with pulled pork, gravy, and deep-friend cheese curds. It's horrible for your health, but heaven for your tastebuds. Upon partaking on the heavenly poutine, my husband remarked, "This is the most American thing with a French name." God Bless the USA. (and Canada).

I wasn't overly impressed with the food. The burgers are small and served on small plates. Their beer though is really good. I particularly enjoyed the cherry wheat; refreshing with a black cherry aftertaste that does not overpower the hoppy flavor of the drink. It's nicely located by the egg harbor park, and, if you go there on a sunny day, sit outside and relax on the patio.

Disappointing first experience at Shipwrecked. My girlfriend ordered grilled salmon which was undercooked both when first brought to the table and after it was sent back. The triple berry dessert she ordered was a fiasco. Was told the berries would be presented on a bed of crumble with vanilla ice cream on top. There was not a crumb of crumble, not one. There were maybe 15 berries in a disgusting syrupy soup. The "ice cream" was a McDonald's soft serve type mess, squirted on top and all melted when brought to the table. Shipwrecked charges $6.99 for this slop. We each ate a berry or two. Despite seeing the dish untouched the waiter asked nothing. Will never go back to this wreck.

We had Shipwrecked on our itinerary, so we were excited to stop in. I had the home brewed a Cherry Wheat and Blonde. Both were fantastic. My girlfriend had Smokehouse Lemonade(pink lemonade) and it was dangerously good if you're a pink lemonade fan. I had the Sailors Plate, which is mashed baby reds, cobette of corn, Cherry BBQ pulled pork and brisket. The potatoes were very creamy but had texture. The pulled pork with the BBQ sauce was very pleasing. The brisket was thick but fork tender and very juicy with a great flavor. Brisket doesn't have sauce but the flavor was great.

The only reason this place is busy is it's location. The food was barely edible: 1. Slow cooked brisket should NOT be tough. 2. Sautéed green beans were soaked in butter and about 2 full tablespoons of garlic for one side serving. 3. My pork sliders were cold and the bread was stale. 4. Mac & Cheese was really salty. The only saving grace was that the fries were good. Don't wasn't your time.

The food was a total disappointment - I was literally afraid to eat it in fear of getting sick. We also stayed 2 nights in the Inn, and while it was one of the least expensive options in Door Co., I would've gladly paid more to stay elsewhere. Both the restaurant and the room we stayed in were extremely filthy - even the outdoor dining area was disgusting. The room in the inn was full of grease smoke when we arrived, and even with the windows open the stench lingered for most of our stay. Being you come in and out through the back door when staying at the Inn, I had the privilege of seeing the restaurant staff often - hanging out outside smoking cigarettes. Not to sound like an ass, but these people were in desperate need of a shower, and really had be doubting the cleanliness of the kitchen. The whole experience had me cringing...

We had a very nice time at Shipwrecked. My wife and I took our daughter and two of her friends to the restaurant at the end of May. Our server, Bailey Zak, was awesome. We kidded with her, saying that it was quite an honor to finally meet the person who owned the harbor. LOL She was a good sport and was a great server, so if you go - be sure to ask for her. My wife and I had the Ribs with Door County Cherry BBQ sauce - and they were fabulous. Fries were great, too. Our daughter had a burger and her friends had wraps. Their food was good. One also had the flight of beers, which were served in small plastic cups on a plank. Cute - and rather typical of the Door County casual atmosphere. We did have some service issues (not related to Bailey). The pace was pretty slow and there was a hiccup in the kitchen with an appetizer, which wound up coming out very late. There seemed to be similar delays with other tables, so perhaps it was a staffing issue that day. Overall, however, it was a good experience. The tab was $130 before tip for a group of 5, which is more than reasonable for the amount of food and beverages we all consumed. Give Shipwrecked a try!

Beer is not awful, though not impressive for a microbrew. The food - we ordered burgers - was extremely underwhelming. Frozen grocery store patties that I wouldn't let touch my Weber back home here are sold for $10. I won't be going back.

Shipwrecked is usually one of our favorite summer stops. We brought some friends in for their first experience. Honestly, we were underwhelmed. We sat at the bar around 8:00pm on a Friday. It was relatively quiet but the service was very lax. One bartender (with cute pigtails!) was nice enough. The other woman spent so much time gossiping with the servers I'm not sure she really liked her job at all. We had a couple drinks and left. Unfortunately the evening didn't live up to our past experiences ... Disappointing.

Stoped there with my wife on a drive in the area, the beer and the atmosphere were good but we ordered a nacho plate that had pulled pork and although the pork tasted good the toppings were so scarce and the portion so small we were altittle pissed at what they charged for it. it was similar in size to a small nacho at taco bell but with less toppings.

To start with I was warned by a friend that this place was overrated, but I am a craft beer guy and almost always choose a microbrewery to eat at if available. Well, I am usually not steered wrong in my picking because if they care enough to make good beer, they care enough to make good food. WRONG AND WRONG! Beer=flat, warm, and uninspired. Food=bland bar food, burnt kettle chips. Service=fair. Not great, but they weren't very busy either. Would I go again? Nope.

My parents and I came here on a day trip around Door County. We were hungry, we saw the sign, we stopped. And we were not disappointed. My dad and I each got a beer sampler. The Cherry Wheat was delicious and I ended up buying a 6-pack. My mom and I shared the loaded pretzel appetizer which was fantastic. Then she and I shared the Rooster Mac & Cheese (wow! fabulous) and one of the barbeque sandwiches (also very good). Our waitress was attentive and helpful in offering suggestions. It was a nice (fantastic) change from our usual Door County food stop, Al Johnson's.

We'd passed by it for many years before my husband developed a huge interest in craft beers. Once he realized this would be his only shot on our trip to Door County, we knew we had to pay a visit. I don't remember much from the visit except we enjoyed ourselves, were seated immediately, had some great beer, and took home a growler of Cherry something or other. All that mattered to me was that there were cherries in it. It was fantastic. We'll definitely stop back on our next trip up North!

Sorry, I was really hoping to like this place and perhaps my poor experience here is due to we visited during the off season, but as you'll see, some of my experience was simply uncalled for. The location = 3 Stars. This place is easy to spot and there is plenty of parking around. The town is small, so you can have a nice stroll either before our after your meal if desired. I also like the history of the place, although they don't really mentioned any of it inside the restaurant itself. The Decor = 3 Stars. It's okay, nothing great, but certainly not cruddy. The place is very clean and plenty of room to maneuver about. The Food = 4 Stars. Okay, we kept it hamburgers, but nonetheless they were really good. The meat is of good quality, as were the condiments and the rolls were fresh. The Micro-Brews = 2 Stars. We first went with the plank. This is a option which gives you a few ounces of several beers they make there. The trouble is, out of the seven or so beers, only one, maybe two were really any good. To the point where I ended up order ice-tea instead. The service = 0 Stars. Yea, I know, Yelp does not have a zero star option, but in this case I'll make an exception. As mentioned, we were here during the off season, and at the time of our visit, there were very few people in the restaurant area. To the point where you pretty much could sit anywhere you please. There were plenty of wait staff as well, so clearly they were not understaffed for the number of customers they had and in fact I'd say they were over staffed. Regardless, it took our waitress over 10 minutes to even come to our table and even then it came across as a bit bother. Then, when she served the plank of beers and walked off, one of the cups accidentally spilled over. I sent over to where she was at and mentioned to her that a drink spilled... she went off into the kitchen to get some towels meanwhile my wife and I started soaking up what we could with the napkins and paper place mats, and then she came over with a towel. I was shocked when she handed me the towel, said nothing, and then walked off leaving me to clean it up. I was shocked at such blatant poor service. This event probably, negatively overshadowed our entire experience, but it's probably a safe bet we will not be back. Not when there are a host of other places to try out!

The service is quite nice. Absolutely no complaints there. The food is really really awful though. My mother got the cheeseburger. It was like $10. Honestly the worst cheeseburger I've ever tasted. Reminded me of the kind we got in hot lunches back in grade school. Totally processed and completely flavorless. I got the brisket sandwich. Just 2 slabs of processed meat with some bbq sauce dumped over it on a bun. I maybe had 2 bites. Really gross. The potato salad was excellent. As was the cherry beer. But the entrees were just the absolute worst.

This is Door County's only brewpub, so of course, we had to go. We split the beer sampler. The beer was good, some better than others. We purposefully avoided ordering food, as we heard the food wasn't that good. A good time, a beautiful patio. Not the best brewpub I've ever been to, but it serves the purpose.

My family and decided to try this place mainly because it's always crowded when we drive by which, in our minds, probably reflected its quality. Also, the online menu/pictures looked very good. BIG MISTAKE! (We know better than to believe any item pictured on a restaurant's menu...but we fell for it.) Our arrival time was about 7:30 p.m. on a week night so it wasn't overly crowded. We were seated right away and intended to quickly place our order, after a couple of questions, because we had pretty much decided what we wanted to eat. The waitress was pleasant but clearly didn't know a heck of a lot about the food items the restaurant offered. Among other things, she couldn't answer BASIC questions about the seafood chowder. The food arrived in a fairly timely manner and disappointment set in rather soon. My crab cake sandwich was visually unappealing, dry, and tasted simply awful. A couple of us had the seafood chowder which was like a cup of lukewarm skim milk with a mushroom or two thrown in, for no apparent reason. There wasn't a clam to be found! My husband's Texas brisket sandwich was thrown together with huge pieces of tough meat that he could hardly chew. One of our sons had a burger which he said was mediocre and the other also had the disappointing crab cake sandwich. We can't prove anything but my husband and both of our grown sons felt ill the remainder of the evening and into the morning hours.(Probably from the lukewarm chowder.) Nice location...but that's about it as far as positives are concerned. We will never go back. Shipwrecked is extremely overrated! That said, this might be a fine place to visit if you are only interested in a couple of drinks and some apps.

Ok, the beer was good. The food and service was mediocre at best. The burgers were just sad grey meat and everything tasted like it had been frozen. I ordered an old fashioned and it was obviously a cheap mix that they garnished with green olives (bar tender must not be a native), when I mentioned the olives to the waiter he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I left here feeling sad and ripped off, I will never go back. Judging by name and location they have super limited seafood options which was disappointing.

When in Door County this is a great place to have a beer and a puled pork sandwich. The cherry wheat ale is by far the best and I am not a beer guy, The cherry bbq sauce is finger licking good too. A great little place with that small town feel.

Food was great, drinks were awesome. My husband loves spicy food and he really liked the garlic chili ketchup they serve with the cheese curds. He had the rest with his fries. We were here in the off season so the bar wasn't really hoppin', but the bartender (Joe) was wonderful and welcoming, and had great recommendations for everything we asked him about. Would definitely come back.

We more or less stumbled across this rather remote brewpub on a cold off-season afternoon; for a while we were the only customers. The building itself is something of a local landmark, and at one point in its long history was a vacation hangout for Al Capone. Our light lunch consisted of the brewhouse chili: beef and pork, beans, tomato sauce, spicery dominated by coriander, with a dash of Lighthouse Light (see below)..Pretty spicy for a restaurant chili. Also tried, the house salad: lettuce, tomato, onion, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar and Swiss (?), with rye croutons. We ordered a sampler assortment, $7.00 for seven 3-ounce plastic cups. The cups were a frosted plastic, which made it somewhat difficult to judge clarity. Items tried included: - Lighthouse Light. Medium gold, light head. Crisp front, short bitter fade. This would appear to be their "training wheels" beer for hopeless BudMillerCoors habitués, The description on the menu claims there's a touch of honey, but I couldn't detect it. - Pumpkin Ale. A seasonal. Clear dark gold; a slight "smoked meat" note in the nose. Pumpkin and spice notes are very subtle. Hopping appears to be the same as the Lighthouse Light. - IPA. Another seasonal. Bronze, with a light head. Fairly weak malt and floral hop nose. Front is sweet malt with a citrus note, balancing a modest hop level. Quite good; I think this is the one I'd choose for a session. - Bayside Blonde Ale. Medium blonde, light head. Not much aroma. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with grassy hops against a fairly dry malt base. - Door County Cherry Wheat. Bronze, light head. Definite cherry presence in the nose. Taste: tart cherries, with an underlying hop bitterness, and a long fade dominated by cherries. (Cherries, by the way, are Door County's best-known crop.) - Captain's Copper. Bronze, with a light head. Slight hop nose. Well-balanced malt and bittering hop front; quick fade. - Peninusla Porter. Not-quite-opaque root beer color, virtually no head. Slight licorice nose. Rather complex flavor profile: roast malt, developing to a slight sweetness, and a sharp note reminiscent of radish.

I can't really complain about anything. The food was (as many others have said) standard pub fare, but it's done pretty well. The outdoor seating area is nice, but you are at a relatively busy intersection, so there could be a lot of traffic noise outside. We made it a point to come here to try the beers, as it is the only microbrewery in Door County, and there were a couple of good ones (Bayside Blonde and the Cherry Wheat), but most of them were just so-so. I think they'd do better if they made fewer varietals and concentrated on making them better. Overall, I had a pretty good experience here, but I don't know that I'll make it a point to come back.

We took our order to go, so we might've missed out on the most important part of this establishment....the beer. Turkey burger was good, but a little small.....the guacamole on the burger was very good. Cheese curds were some of the best I've had in DC. House salad was the perfect size and tasty. We had some berry/vanilla ice-cream/granola type dessert which was, quite frankly, amazing. Service was fast and friendly. I hope to give the place another chance and actually try the beer :)

Being from Chicago, we were looking for a brewery. Since this is Door County's only brewery, we decided to stop and give it a try. It was such a nice day that we decided to eat outside. We were attacked by some bees and had to move inside, but hey sometimes stuff like that can't be helped. We got a sample plank and we were able to try everything which was pretty awesome. I really liked the Bayside Blonde and the Cherry Wheat. Really, you can't go wrong with the sampler. We ended up taking some IPA and Cherry Wheat home with us. The bartender was so nice and even cut us a deal on the growler that we had to purchase. This place is on my list for a return trip. Was it the best craft beer that I've ever had? No, but it was an adventure and I enjoyed every minute of it!

For those of us who live in Door County we call Shipwrecked one and done . all of the tourists try it once and don't return and no one who is local goes there because we have tried it once. Great location is the only quality it has going for it. There are too many good places to eat in Door-Skip Shipwrecked.

Visited here with my boyfriend on vacation and enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service! We showed up on a Wednesday evening around 8:00 pm and the view was absolutely perfect! The beautiful sunset over Egg Harbor can be seen perfectly from their outside patio seating. I recommend visiting around this time. During the week there is plenty of open seating. Next is the food-it was great! We didn't have anything fancy as we planned on heading over for a light bite to eat and drinks. We first ordered drinks- I had the blueberry merlot (nice sized pour) and my boyfriend ordered one of the beers. We then ordered the smothered pretzel sticks as an appetizer and it was great! It was the best soft, warm pretzel i've ever ordered- did not remind me of the cold, hard, heated up pretzels like you'd get at a sports game. Wonderful! For dinner, I had the Asian chile chicken drummies and they were huge and delicious! Definitely enough to eat as an entree. Nice balance of sweet and spice with a subtle smoky flavor. My boyfriend ordered a burger with fries (can't remember exactly which one- I think the turkey burger) and he didn't complain so i'm sure it was good. After we finished eating we enjoyed another couple glasses of beer and just relaxed. Of note, we did end up moving inside right before the entrees were served because we started seeing more mosquitos.

This place is in a great location and it's primarily because of its location and lack of competition that I think it still exists. We did not eat here, my friends and I decided to order the beer sampler. Out of all the beers they make there were only 2 I felt were passable. The IPA, and the Shipwreck light. How disappointed was I by the cherry wheat beer. I love cherry wheat beer but theirs was very watery and blah. The service level at the bar was passable. I don't really have any complaints but it seemed like the poor bartender was constantly running around making mixed drinks. For a brewpub this is odd. Will I return???? I'm not sure. Maybe.

Went here for a smaller lunch. We should've gotten burgers or a salad, but we got 2 appetizers. 1. Chicken Drummies - gf ordered these. They were fried chicken legs, and we thought the sauce would be on it, like most wings, but it was a side dipping sauce. We had the asian dipping sauce. It was good, but thought if it was actual dipping sauces, then we should be allowed to pick multiple. 2. Seafood Quesadillas- I was a little apprehensize about these, and my intuition was right. They were pretty average, and the shrimp was avg. quality. But, the whitefish in it was good. Kinda random, but the salsa was awesome, but we didn't taste that till the end. Overall, it had a great patio, but we think we ordered the wrong things. A little bit pricey too-

I had the Kracken which is a burger topped with BBQ pulled pork fondue cheese (a fancy way of saying cheese sauce) while my wife had the appetizer mini sliders (small portions of a hamburger, BBQ pulled pork, and a chicken sandwich). My sandwich was very good and very messy. Our waitress warned us that my sandwich was going to be messy when she served it. She also gave me extra napkins. My wife enjoyed her sandwiches. My only complaint was that the fries were way over salted. I tried 2 of their craft beers, the cherry wheat and the blonde. Both were good. When we were there we sat outside since it was a perfect day.

So far out of all the brew pubs I have been to this one is the worst. Door County needs to stick to wine and cherries. The beer I had left a bad aftertaste. The waiter I had had absolutely no personality as he gives me my food and says "here" and walks away as if I have inconvenienced him somehow by making him do his job. The food was ok. I had the brisket sandwich. The brisket itself was great but the setup was sloppy. The chips were stale but the potatoe salad was solid!

The food and service are pretty good. And, they are pretty kid friendly. So, no problems there. But remember, this is bar food and therefore the overal rating is going to go to what the place is all about -- it is a craft brewer with a restaurant. But, the beer is not very good. I have done the sampler once and tried the IPA this past time I went. And, for what each of the beers represents, the beers lack sufficient flavor and body. If they greatly improve the beers, the rating goes to about 3.5 stars.

Looooove Shipwrecked! I've been here twice, and it's been great both times. I've always liked the "Seat Yourself" rule. Don't let it turn you off if you're a fan of hands-on service, though--the servers are quick to welcome each person as soon as they walk in. Can't remember what I had the first time, but on the most recent stop, I chose the Crab Cake Sandwich. The cake by itself held together well, and the chipotle sauce on the sandwich gave it a nice tangy bite without being too spicy. I had a side of Tropical Coleslaw, which was delicious. I wasn't expecting to like the sweetness that much, but all the flavors blended perfectly together. My only wish is that the menu were a little more extensive, but I like having plenty of options, and the menu is far from disappointing as it is. If you're in Egg Harbor, do NOT pass up Shipwrecked!

I take my brewpubs pretty seriously and I don't like to get down on them unless it is warranted. This place lives on its location, pure and simple. We stopped by on our way home from Rock Island yesterday. To start, the building looks run down and in dire need of a clean up. The host was less than friendly and said nary a word as he sat us. Last I heard, it was his job to make patrons feel welcome, correct? He led us to an outdoor table with those cheap plastic chairs that feel like they are going to bust every time you sit down. My first sign that things were awry was the lettuce on the knife in my fresh silverware roll. It took a good five minutes for our server to arrive. I ordered the Pumpkin Ale seasonal which was good. Not too heavy on the pumpkin, but it was clearly evident along with the spices of fall. A nice malty treat for the friends of Autumn! I would have had another, but..............when the server brought our round of drinks, I told him we were ready to order. Apparently he had much more pressing business than customers and told us he would be back in a few minutes. About 8 minutes later to be exact he returned to take our order. I had the cheese nuggets (clearly ordered as an appetizer) and the mac & cheese. Our nuggets took well over 20 minutes to arrive. If you know anything about nuggets, they take about 6-8 minutes, tops. No apology about the wait was forthcoming. I asked the server who delivered them to our table if we could get some ranch dressing. Guess how long that took? If you said it never came, you're correct. Our meals arrived about a minute later. Quality restaurants seriously frown on this kind of timing. You leave time for people to enjoy their appetizers before bringing their meals, its pretty common courtesy. Mistakes are made, I get that, but then you apologize. I don't want handouts or things taken off my bill, just some sign that the customer is important. Nope, they herd cattle here. My server finally delivered some much needed ranch dressing about half way through the curds and after the second request (the other server was still way too busy chatting up the people next to us about when they were leaving for Chicago). The food was decent, the Mac had a nice blend of smoked pork/chicken which made for an interesting flavor. The cheese curds were average, I've had much better in our fine state. Did I mention the multiple dogs eating on the patio with us, the fact that they were barking on and off and the guy who kept smacking his dog on the snout in an awful attempt at training it? When the time for bills mercifully arrived, our server forgot to split them as we had requested an hour and ten minutes earlier. I think I probably forgot as well after that amount of time. After doing so, he forgot to discount my beers from the Wisconsin Micro Brewery book I had along....then he proceeded to discount the wrong bill and as if he was inviting me back, he never got the Brewmasters signature to prove I had been there. No worries, I won't be back to take advantage of the $1 pints. There are much, much better places to frequent. A final synopsis.....beer=good, food=average, service=atrocious. This place could be special. They have a built in (large) crowd, scenic location and a historic building. All the ingredients for success. Its too bad they choose to skate by on these factors and not capitalize on them.

Things that make you want to visit Shipwrecked: 1. The name. It makes you think of awesome things like pirates or old guys with wooden legs telling you tales of the sea, like how they wrestled a great white and gouged its eye out only to be haunted by a one eyed shark. 2. Its a microbrewery. And unlike most places in Wisconsin, it brews ales instead of lagers, which generally have a little bit more of a robust flavor. Perfect for sea-dogs and scallywags. 3. Its in Door County, one of the coolest little tourist traps in the state, where can you go wrong with that? 4. Cheese curds. Things that make you regret going to Shipwrecked: 1. No old guys with sea stories, no pirates. 2. The beer. Its mediocre at best, and served in plastic cups. Makes it feel less like a restaurant and more like a frat party where the girls get drunk off fruity beer. 3. Its in Door County. If you have a group over 5 people, expect 18% gratuity tacked on. If you wanna split something, that's $4... 4. The cheese curds blow, along with the rest of the food. (I got a pulled pork sandwich that tasted like soggy cardboard before I dumped BBQ sauce on it.)

As you may have read from other Yelpers, this is not the Capital Grille. And no, their beers are not competing with the Potosis and Delafield Brewhaus' of the state. But this is the only brewpub in Wisconsin Wine Country and they do try to put out a good product. The host staff was very accommodating, though we had to flag someone down to find out which Jonas brother was our actual waiter. From there things got better and I would recommend that any beer lover give their sampler a try. You get seven small servings of different beers they are currently offering so you can see if there's anything here fit to take home in a bottle or growler. Don't come here if you're in a hurry, as you'll be disappointed in the speed of things as despite (or because of) the lack of positive reviews, the joint it typically hopping like a pogo stick.

Wanted to go here based on reviews and not because it was the only place open during our stay in the off season. Husband liked the microbrewery beers and some friends enjoyed the samples of beer. I enjoyed the wine from the local Door Peninsula Winery (awesome to see local places supporting each other. There were not a lot of people there when we were but it was still pretty loud. I had the Carolina Pork Butt Sandwich and it was enough--almost too much and a lot of meat for a too little of a bun.

2 stars for the craft beers. The food was marginal and the service was poor. I ordered cheese curds and a pulled pork sandwich. I would never order either again. The curds were mushy and the sandwich, which had a giant chunk of bone in it, was bland. The waitress didn't offer any discount on my sandwich after I showed her the bone chunk. I'm sure there are better lunch options in Door County. Go here for a beer - skip the food.

I expect a certain level of foodie splendor when I dine. I love food, so I am serious about every meal I consume, whether it is a sampling of various appetizers or sharing different entrees. I up the ante when I vacation in a place like Door County. The fast food joints fade into the background as you leave the city limits of Sturgeon Bay, and you have only independently-owned establishments ahead. There is nothing but time in the sleepier towns of Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Sister Bay, etc., so the quality of the food should be present. I figured that the throngs of famished tourists waiting 45 minutes + to dine on the patio of Shipwrecked could not be wrong. After dining at Shipwrecked, I felt like I had dined at a "fancy" fast food restaurant. Let me briefly stop to note that pub food does not have to mean frozen food (see: Christie's Pub if you need an example of what I mean). When reading the Shipwrecked menu descriptions, you anticipate being served some housemade specialties. My fellow diners and I ordered up the "Carnival Pretzel" and "Ze Spicy German." The menu informed us that we would be served a "jumbo soft pretzel smothered in our Bayside Blonde fondue..." A real jumbo pretzel to me is the one with the brown, crispy, crackled skin with the soft, spongy interior, and giant flakes of Maldon salt baked on top. "Jumbo" would also suggest that you will be surprised by the size. We were presented with a pretzel comparable to those "Market Day" frozen varieties that taste like--as did this one--shoe leather. The menu said it would be "smothered" in their cheese fondue. It was not smothered in the least. Rather, the pretzel sat atop a layer of orange cheese sauce. Fondue should be creamy and dense. The "fondue" in this case was reminiscent of Velveta. This was a disappointing translation from menu to plate. The spicy German bites were better represented. From menu to plate, there was no deception, and the sausage pieces were battered nicely. However, the mustard sauce was soupy. The kitchen would do better by serving a stone-ground mustard in place of the present dipping sauce. The Shipwrecked IPA does pair nicely with this appetizer. The wings that were also ordered were standard fare, and it did have a nice honey dressing that smothered its crispy skin. Here, "smothered" happened. Now, if the kitchen can work on their menu descriptions and have the plates stay true to them, they will gain some major points. Also, they will need to work on respecting their patrons by not pushing out food quickly to move people through quickly. As much as turnover is important, people still want quality food. I think the potential is there to make some amazing food. The microbrews prove that it is possible.

A standard during our yearly stay in Door County. Typical bar type food, cheese curds, burgers and sandwiches. Nice variety of beer so you can try their home brews or you favorite brand. It's nice patio to sit and people watch on, and there are shops and the local harbor are with in walking distance. It's not really innovative place but it's a nice basic place.

I love this place! Last time I visited Door County, we went to Shipwrecked twice. The place is fun, the people are awesome and the food it great! (I tried their beers, they were alright.) Do yourself a favor: order the Seafood Chowder. Trust me, you won't be sorry.

WOW! Highly recommend! I was very impressed by this place, as was the boyfriend. We sat outside as the weather was beautiful, and we got a table overlooking the harbor across the street. It was beautiful! We shared the Beer Sampler to decide which beers to order, and well, we're beer snobs and had to try it all! Each beer had wonderful flavor, from the light to the porter. Very very good, we were impressed. For an appetizer, we ordered their hummus and chips. I was nervous about the chips, hoping they wouldn't be some greasy, store bought things thrown on a plate, however, I was wrong. We got a little bucket filled with homemade, thick potato chips with wonderful spices and flavor. The hummus was homemade as well, and very good! For dinner, the boyfriend and I split the Kraken burger with rice pilaf on the side. Yummy! The burger was great, not too big, not too small. And the rice pilaf was reallllly good. Our waiter was nice and helpful, he took pictures for us when we asked, the only turn off were the obvious hickeys on his neck.

Hmmmm....I felt like we had to stop by the 'only microbrewery' in Door County, and we did. I didn't particularly like it. It smelled like in an hospital, and that was enough to turn me off for the rest of my visit. And the beers didn't make up for it. An institution, I guess but one I could easily do without.

  • Lindsay K.

Just look at the place, then tell me, what did you expect? It's a little "brewpub" in a tiny town with a population which I doubt exceeds 1000. For those looking for a gourmet meal in Egg harbor, go to Trio, but otherwise, you should know what you're getting into right off the bat. I had a burger, fries, and I "walked the plank", meaning had a flight of their in-house beer selection. The burger was a burger. Fries were just fine. Their house made BBQ sauce was really good, and I'm definitely not a BBQ kind of person. I would've even bought some to bring home had I the option. Beer wasn't awesome, but again, I wasn't expecting awesome. What I did very much appreciate was the super friendly staff. I can just imagine some self-important crabby urban-dwellers judging the staff and making accusations of fake friendliness, but turns out, some people in the world really are genuinely happy and just that nice. I'd probably be a lot less embittered about working in the service industry if my place of employment was in a "village" on the peninsula between Green Bay and Lake Michigan too. So, yup. Fine place, nothing to love, nothing to hate.

Our large group had mixed reviews. Noted for their handcrafted beers, the selection of beers was extensive. They offer beer flights which is fun. Our large group had dinner on the large patio overlooking the downtown area of Egg Harbor. It's a fun, casual atmosphere! The burgers and cheeses curds were excellent. The Perch dinner, however, was mediocre, heavily breaded and fried. The most disappointing aspect of the evening was the attitude of the hostess. We were a large group and the hostess acted as if we were a huge imposition. One of our group nicely asked about the wait and she replied that she didn't want anyone to bug her! Our waiter on the other hand was great!

Food took a long time to come. Plenty of people working and not busy. Ribs lame and over priced. Hamburger - frozen patty out of box. Burger King would have been better. Seafood chowder probably from a can. Order the seafood quesadillas but waitress forgot them - thank God.

    (1)
  • Gina B.

We were the only people in the restaurant on a Wednesday afternoon, and the food delivery, other than the "chowdah" was slow. The fries were *very* salty.... Salt in the batter and salt on top. On the other hand, the chowdah was delicious and the "burgers were good". My turkey club was also good, as well, but as mother-in-law said, "nothing to write home about."

We were here on a cold night at the end of May and the town was basically dead. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting, but empty except for a handful of people. Our server was good, although I suspect it was because he was trying to score a large tip to make up for lack of business.I had the Chili Lime chicken fingers and they were terrible, very dry and flavorless. My husband had the smokehouse Mac and cheese which was very one note and got to be too rich after a few bites.Maybe on a busier night when the food is guaranteed to be fresh it would have been better.

We stopped by Shipwrecked for some beer and lunch. The beer was pretty good, but not outstanding. I do recommend trying the beer. The food was not so good with things appearing to be frozen from a package (crab cakes) or just not that flavorful. If this place had better food it would be amazing. So, go for the beer and eat somewhere else.

Good service, decent bar food, good beers! Try the sampler platter! You get a decent sized taste of all their current beers. My fav is a coffee stout they did in the fall a few years back! BBQ ribs were good.

We went in the off season, so no wait and exceptional service. Checked in on foursquare and got $2 pints. I had the copper ale and my husband the blonde. Food was great and our 2 year old loved it. Burgers and fries were excellent. We especially loved the sweet potato fries with their "magic dust" seasoning. Yummy!

Those who expect something fancy, why did you come to Shipwrecked. Scratch that, why did you come to Door County? It's not supposed to be fancy and 5-star quality. It's supposed to be fun and laid back. I've been coming to this place every year we come to Door County for the 4th, which is almost every year. I always sit outside. And I love it here. No, the food isn't food network worthy, but its a pub. The fried cheese curds are wonderful. The staff is beyond friendly. I will always come back here.

Known for it's ghosts, ties to Italian mobsters, and wonderful micro-brews, you can't help but stop in here. My favorite micro-brew is their Cherry Wheat, and for those of you who don't drink beer they also offer a variety of Door County wines from the local Door County Peninsula winery. The food is OK nothing too spectacular, but if you're looking for a good time, you'll certainly find it here!

We went to Shipwreck on the recommendation of a friend and weren't terribly impressed. The microbrews are okay, but nothing special. The Cherry Wheat Ale was good, but drinking out of a plastic cup definitely took some of the luster off. The food was standard pub food. I ordered the bratwurst and my wife had the burger, both of which were good, but not terribly unique. The waitstaff was friendly and very efficient. Head over if your in search of some pub food and looking to try an ale.

This was a lively place in the middle of downtown Egg Harbor, WI. Fun place with a lot of action. My husband enjoyed the micro brew sampler - he like about 3-4 of the 6 samples. He had the perch fish fry and I had the cod fish fry. We both agree the fish was cooked to long, it was tuff and overly crispy. The coleslaw, cheese curds, and rolls were good. Service was ok a little slow. We would try it again.

We ate here last weekend after driving around in search of a supper club with no luck. It was cold outside yet they kept the door open. Brrrrrr. The atmosphere was like a Perkins in dire need of remodeling. The food was blah... The grilled shrimp on my salad had no grill evidence at all - they looked raw. The sweet potato fries had some weird flavoring to it - in abundance.. Nutmeg? Not sure. the beer was average at best. So bummed we didn't keep searching for a supper club, but with hungry kids we had to stop....

Go for the beer. The hot wings tasted like spicy smoked bbq, not too great. The ribs were meatless and not cooked well. The sour cream and garlic mashed potatoes were good. The perch looked it came from the grocery store. I wouldn't go back, maybe for the beer. Way over priced for what you get. Service was OK.

This restaurant is just so-so. My husband and I went on a Tuesday evening, there were only three other diners in the restaurant and a couple of people at the bar, but we had to wait to be seated - only for the hostess to tell us to sit anywhere. My husband ordered the porter, which he liked, although not well enough to want to buy it to take back home. We had the cheese curds, which were good. The bennie sandwich was very good as were the homemade potato chips. The perch dinner was bland, the fish overcooked, the fries tasted like Ore Ida from the freezer section of the grocery store, the tartar sauce was very heavy on the dill. We would not good back. Hoping to discover a much better dining experience in Door County.

This "FIB" loves good beer and too bad there wasn't any to be found here. We had a beer sampler which included pedestrian beers that lacked in any depth, but I guess my wife and I are just beer snobs. They are busier than hell when the weather is nice so they'll do just fine. Just keep your expectations in line and you'll do fine with the pub grub and libations here, especially if it's a nice day to be outside in Egg Harbor.

Waitress was very pleasant and when we ate outside and were surrounded by bee's that is not the fault of the restaurant. But the bathrooms were pretty messy, the food was just average (burgers were decent according to my husband). I ordered a salad and it was covered in cold, greasy, unfresh bacon. It was disgusting. I rarely send food back but I couldn't even look at it. I then got a chicken sandwich and it was decent. It was all around a below average experience.

Booooooring. This place looks cool as you approach it. On the street outdoor seating with lots of tables and a cool charter boat feeling. They also microbrew their own beer but $50 a couple with only one drink (pregnant wife) and sandwiches with fires. I'm not feeling it. Our server sucked and needed a personality and I couldn't stand how many flies are in the inside of the restaurant. If I went again (most likely not) it would be probably for drinks or night life or to try another flight of their microbrews. Go for the beer not the food.

I loved the decor---the food was very disappointing. The beer--phenomenal. Wow! I ordered the crab cake sandwich and it looked like a hockey puck deep fried. It was like crab was put in a blender with some bread crumbs and a kernel of corn here and there and deep fried. The flavor was there but the consistency was not. I was expecting lumps of crab meat falling off the bun. Also the sweet potato fries were old and cold. Yuck. But after hiking for over 5 hours I was hungry cold and thirsty. I think the only reason why I ate the food was because I had a couple of delicious beers inside me :) I highly recommend the spruce tip pale ale when it is in season. Absolutely one of the best beers I have ever had. So for a beer place--great---food....not so impressive. I am willing to give it another try, though because of the beer.

Had lunch on a hot hot day on the patio. Cheese curds were not that exciting and we shared a fish and chips which I liked but my husband thought was too fishy. Highlight was the Shipwrecked Wheat. Zach had the cheery beer and like it too. It was a cute location but didn't leave me wanting more.

It is what it is, a brewpub with pub grub. Friendly service and enjoyable beer (I'm partial to the Bayside Blonde myself). Great on a nice day if you want to sit outside and a great place to catch a Packer game.

My wife & I went there for supper and weren't impressed with the food. We were seated immediately and had a friendly but mechanical waitress. The perch would've been good but the fryer oil was waaaay overdue for a change. The seafood chowder was pretty good but was served barely warm. Overall, unimpressed.

Shipwrecked is a fun restaurant and bar in Egg Harbor. They have a good selection of micro-brews, so you can try out their selection. The Cherry Wheat Ale and Pale Blonde Ale are my favorites. The food is typical pub food--nothing to write home about, but enjoyable nonetheless. It can get crowded in the summer, but they have outdoor patio seating. The service is friendly, and you can always find some local flavor at Shipwrecked!

I was in Door County with a friend just as the whole area was starting to shut down after the summer tourist season. I was looking forward to checking this place out as I'm a big fan of breweries and microbrews in general. I'm not into shopping or fish boils so this was a good Door County option for me (especially after a disappointing wine tasting experience). We liked the beer - I was glad they had a tasting option of all the beers on the menu. The staff was decent - the bartender was a little stuffy at first but warmed up to us (could have been my Bears shirt!). We ended up staying for a few hours, had our fill of beer and a decent sandwich. The place met my expectations. If I find myself in Door County again, I'll definitely stop in.

No trip to Door County is complete without stopping at Shipwrecked . They offer a a great IPA and a cherry wheat that we still crave . Service in the bar was quick and our server chatty . Our burgers were cookd as requsted . Best part of it the business is operated at a B&B at the end of the night just had to head up the stairs . The rooms are nice and we felt at home . The business is within walking distance of alot of tourist things to do . We will be sure to go back ....

This ia must visit for me and my family every time we are in Door County. The beer is good - I would reccomend the sampler on your first visit. They also serve wine from the Door County Winery. really enjoy the green beans and pulled pork sandwhich as well. I have never ate inside the restaurant, but the patio is very nice. The food is not fancy, but it is tasty and the beer is cold.
